History
Transifex was founded in 2009 by Dimitris Glezos as a continuation of a Google Summer of Code project aimed at solving a localization issue for the Fedora Project. Initially conceived as an open-source project in 2007, Transifex transitioned to a proprietary model in 2013, offering a web-based translation platform focused on automating the localization workflow for technical projects such as software, documentation, and websites.
The company raised over USD 6.5 million in funding from investors including Toba Capital, New Enterprise Associates, and Arafura Ventures between 2014 and 2015.
In 2022, Transifex was acquired by PARC Partners.
Transifex continues to innovate in the localization space with its latest initiative, Transifex AI that aims to provide unparalleled translation speed and automation, leveraging natural language processing to enhance productivity while maintaining human-quality translations.
The company serves notable clients such as HubSpot, Viva Wallet, Atlassian, Deezer, Eventbrite, VWO, and Waze.
