QBRs: Do You Run Them Too?

Raise your hand if you’ve never been to a quarterly business review (QBR) run by your company.

You might be surprised to find that QBRs are actually not that widespread.

According to a Nimdzi Insights survey, a majority of language industry professionals, be it clients, vendors or anyone in between, do not run QBRs.

QBRs: Do you run them too?

Only just over 30 percent reported running them “sometimes.” In fact, only about 10 percent of the vendors surveyed reported being committed to quarterly QBR presentations.

Those we surveyed on the client side showed similar responses but with a couple of striking differences:

  • There was a significant percentage increase in those that showed a serious commitment to consistent, quarterly QBR presentations,
  • but a significant decrease in the percentage of those reporting to run QBRs only some of the time.

For vendors and clients that do run QBRs, we asked whether or not they planned on running them more frequently. Interestingly, all client respondents answered in the affirmative compared to just under 54 percent of vendors.

For any business that relies on a healthy client base, creating and successfully managing QBRs is critical to company success. Even though your clients have signed an annual contract, there is no guarantee they will renew at the end of the year, so take nothing for granted – and make QBRs a regular fixture in your calendar.
