Heather Shoemaker, AI in International Customer Support, Language I/O

Heather is CEO of Language I/O, a B2B provider of real-time, conversational translation technology. The company’s current focus is on the multilingual customer support sector and their solution enables English-speaking (or monolingual) customer support agents to talk to their customers in any language, across any e-support channel. The company’s future focus is to expand use of their technology outside of customer support into the more general B2B, User Generated Content (UGC) translation space.

Prior to co-founding Language I/O, Heather was Sr. Director of Product Management and Globalization for eCollege, which was acquired by Pearson Education during her tenure. While at Pearson/eCollege, Heather and her team built a next-generation, online college education platform, which was launched globally.

Heather holds a Masters of Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder College of Engineering as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from the University of Washington in Seattle. She has lived in various parts of the United States and Mexico and speaks English and Spanish.

Andrzej Zydroń, AI in the LQA Process, XTM

Andrzej Zydroń is CTO at XTM International and technical architect of XTM Cloud. He is one of the leading IT experts on localization and related open standards. Andrzej sits and has sat on many open standard technical committees. He has been responsible for the architecture of the word and character count GMX-V standard, as well as the revolutionary xml:tm. Andrzej is also head of the OASIS OAXAL technical committee.

Istvan Lengyel, Technology Consultant, Nimdzi Insights; Founder BeLazy

István Lengyel works as technology consultant for Nimdzi Insights and he is the founder of BeLazy (https://www.belazy.cat), the project management automation company that makes continuous localization efficient across the entire supply chain. Previously, he was one of the founders of Kilgray, the makers of memoQ, but also worked as a translator, and at an LSP. He holds several degrees in economics and translation, including a PhD in translation studies. He is passionate about technology being a platform to align interests.

James Lin, Senior Localization Operation Program Manager; Uber

James has over 18 years of experience in the globalization industry to drive internationalization development and localization operations. He specializes in creating and transforming cross-functional teams that drive products into global markets. James is a seasoned subject matter expert in globalization program management, SDLC Project Life Cycle integration of i18n and L10n development, and localization transformation and integration.
