The Nimdzi Lessons in Localization series highlights the largest, the most innovative, the up-and-coming, and the most successful globalization programs in the world.
In today's Lesson in Localization, we look at how Dataduck does localization.
Digital marketing agency Dataduck specializes in advertising campaigns for a unique range of products. Their clients are primarily from fintech, so stock trading and cryptocurrency are services and products these folks know all about. Dataduck’s goal is to “breathe life into products” through creative production, analytics, and brand development. Teams work on a variety of marketing materials and strategies, such as video advertising, landing pages, and digital marketing campaigns.
We spoke to Anastasia Selezneva, the Localization Team Lead at Dataduck. Anastasia started out in the language services industry as a translator and now applies her wealth of knowledge to Dataduck’s localization program.
TL;DR
For Dataduck’s localization team, it’s all about marketing and product content for a niche pool of clients: fintech companies are their bread and butter.
The in-house localization team is small, but has established close relationships with its translation partners.
Smartcat is the primary tech tool, and it’s used for everything from translation management to quality assurance.
