Lessons in Localization - Nimdzi Report on ThoughtSpot Localization

About ThoughtSpot

ThoughtSpot is a search and AI-driven analytics platform. With ThoughtSpot, enterprises around the world are instantly able to put the power of analytics into the hands of every business person.

TL;DR

  • Internationalization first: While ThoughtSpot considers both internationalization and localization to be important, there is a clear internationalization-first mindset. The thought behind this is that the product needs to be developed for the different international markets before anything gets localized.
  • Maturing the product equally across all markets: This is the ultimate goal for the Localization department at ThoughtSpot.
  • Centralized technology: More or less everything localization-related happens on Crowdin, which allows both vendors and the internal team to work within one centralized platform.
  • A sales-driven approach: The localization approach at ThoughtSpot is sales-driven and customer-focused, meaning that if there is a new customer who needs the product in a certain language, the team can make this happen in a short amount of time.
